Jackie B. from yelp.comThe Smog Check program has greatly reduced air pollution created by California's 30 million cars. According to the California Air Resources Board, the program removes more than 360 tons of smog-forming pollutants from the air every day.For this reason, it is important to have a smog test. We Certify All Smog Checks.
The average test time is about 20 minutes. Newer, smaller vehicles are easier to smog. From our experience, these inspections can be completed within 15 minutes. Older, larger, and exotic vehicles are more complicated. As such, more time is required to properly inspect.
Section 44015 (e) of the California Health and Safety Code states that a Smog Check certificate of compliance or non-compliance is valid for 90 days.
The California Department of Motor Vehicles (DMV) requires new residents to bring their vehicles to a smog inspection station for a smog check before registering their vehicles, which must be completed within 20 days of establishing residency. You must then present the smog inspection certificate when registering your vehicle. Even if they're current, out-of-state smog inspection stickers or certificates do not suffice this requirement. Once you've completed your initial smog check, you will then be subject to the standard schedule of re-certification every 2 years.
The Zeessmog Star station is a Smog Control station that meets high performance standards.
